06 Jun My birthday! Hike in Figaró and dinner at Celerí
This year on my birthday I had plenty of celebrations with friends and family. My perfect day was to spend the day out in a beautiful hike with friends in Figaró, el Montseny, in a very lush area close to the river. We walked for around an hour (kids pace), ate and then walked back. After that refreshing injection of nature, back in Barcelona my sister brought me to Celerí restaurant, from chef Xavier Pallicer. All the food is organic, seasonal and local, and there are dishes available for vegetarians and vegans. I loved the closeness you feel with the cooks, having a clean open kitchen and having the cooks serve you each colorful dish.
The dishes we ordered included: Gaspatxo de remolatxa, tomàquet i raïm (beet gaspatxo with tomatoes and grapes). Cèleri en filets, salsa meunière, dàtil (celery root with meunière suace and dates). Patata macaria, mongeta tendra, bolets (potato, string beans and mushrooms). Peix a la planxa, mini verduretes de l’hort d’en Jacques saltades, oli avove xp (fresh fish from the market with mini vegetables from the vegetable garden sautée). Pèsols amb tripa de bacallà (peas with salt cod tripe).
