Sledding day in Pals ski resort and Carn a la pedra at Restaurant Borda d’Erts, Erts – Principat d’Andorra

Aina was very excited to visit Andorra to see the mountains. She thinks all mountains have snow, I guess we have to work on that… especially because this time she was right! There was plenty of snow in the mountains of Andorra. We got a sled for 2 people and went to Pals, a ski resort. Aina had a great time with the sled and touching the snow, but I think her parents and grandparents had a better time with the sled! 🙂 It reached an exciting speed and the brakes didn’t work, so that added excitement.

With that scenery I thought it would be a good idea to eat Carn a la pedra (meat made with a hot stone). It is a technique used typically in mountain villages. The nice part of this experience is that everybody cooks and has to wait for the meat to be ready, so it encourages talking and enjoying the experience of eating. The best part of cooking with that technique is that it was the first time Aina cooked meat. She was even happier doing that than touching the snow!
